The Best EV Powerbanks For Your Car

Till late 2021, the world has not seen any EV power bank in the market, and yet one of the most sorted answers by electric vehicle users is, “which is the best EV power bank?” Most car owners will prefer and willingly love switching from a gasoline-powered vehicle to an electric-powered vehicle. Still, the fear of most car owners will be the challenge of charging the vehicle and fear of the vehicle being shut down while on a road trip. Also, if charging stations are to be fixed at specific locations, what happens if one runs very low on power and there’s no close charging station within? This could be the major setback drivers could experience when using any electric-powered vehicle. Therefore, finding a solution to this challenge will go a long way in boosting the confidence of potential users of an all-electric-powered vehicle.

Indeed, this could be a great task for whichever company will dare to embark on such a tasking, time-consuming, and money-consuming project. A firm in the UK, known as ZipCharge, has dared to produce an EV portable power bank. How did they achieve all these, and when will it be launched? Read along as we unveil more details about the charger.

To skip the stress of the traditional method of charging your electric vehicle, a new EV power bank has been unveiled by ZipCharge is called “ZipCharge Go.” It is an EV portable power bank that enables you to add a small and reasonable amount of power to your battery-powered automobile when you’re on a road trip, and your vehicle is running low on power. “ZipCharge Go” will be efficient and easy to use, as anyone who is familiar with using a phone power bank will be able to operate it. Also, in the case of mobility, the device will be easily conveyed in the booths of cars as it weighs only about 50 pounds. When your electric vehicle’s battery is getting low, you pull over by the roadside, connect the device to your vehicle charging port, and within a time frame of, say, 30 minutes, your electric vehicle has added up to 5-10% battery capacity. ZipCharge Go is the solution for households with easy access to public charging.

Unlike the Device-Roadie, which was developed by a company called Gogoro, to charge electric scooters, which is not convenient and easy to carry about, the device-ZipCharge Go is portable and can be compared as the size of a suitcase. It has a handle that can be held to and a wheel for easy mobility.

Like a gasoline station that operates in any weather condition, the anticipated ZipCharge Go has been built to function effectively regardless of the weather type. It also comes with a provision for a 2G/3G connectivity and a ZipCharge smartphone App, which monitors the charging process and makes sure your electric vehicle is fully charged and ready to be on the go when you need it.

What will be the capacity and charging strength of the EV portable power bank?

The EV Power bank device will be launched in two sizes to help meet the requirements of vehicle types, based on the capacity and efficiency of your electric vehicle. One device will be 4 kWh, and the other will be 8 kWh. That of 4 kWh will be capable of adding 12 to 20 miles of travel range when charged for 30 minutes, while that of 8 kWh will be capable of adding 25 to 40 miles of travel range when charged for 1 hour. In essence, charging time will depend on the battery’s capacity, charging power, and the power intensity of the vehicle. Electric vehicles with higher power density allow the battery to more charge unit.

In a situation where charging at the public station will not be convenient, ZipCharge has provided a convenient way of charging at homes by connecting it to a built-in bi-directional AC-DC unit. For car owners who love to park their vehicles in a garage, setting up a charging station in the garage will be more convenient, whereas, for car owners who love off-road parking, a charging station in the garage would not be a good option. However, multiple ports are made available for users at the charging stations. They are equipped with connection sensing mechanisms to plug out the power when the electric vehicle is not charging properly.

Although the battery of an electric vehicle can only be charged with DC power, most of the EVs have an in-built AC-to-DC converter that makes it possible for them to be plugged into a well-structured and standard household AC receptor.

Electric car charging is simple, cost-effective, and convenient, especially when you are charging at home. Charging your vehicle while you’re busy with something else or possibly, while you’re asleep. The duration takes to charge your car will depend on the size of the battery and charging equipment. ZipCharge Go provides a convenient means of charging.

When are we to expect the first EV power bank?

ZipCharge Go will be the first EV portable power bank, and it is yet to be introduced into the market until the fourth quarter of the year 2022. Also, a fixed price is yet to be fixed for the device. The device will either be hired or sold out to customers at a price of $67.

The ease of usage and flexibility of the device solves the anxiety that has been in the mind of many electric vehicle owners. The EV portable power bank device is designed to bring convenience to everyone using it and at any time, anywhere.

Although there will probably be some other EV power bank manufacturers that will come with their unique designs, the ZipCharge EV power bank will likely hit the market in months, if not days to come. I guess by now, many electric vehicle owners are in eager anticipation of the launching of the device by ZipCharge firm and will create a great market for its developers.
